Lara Logan, CBS News’ chief foreign affairs correspondent, complained to Jon Stewart June 17 that the TV networks aren’t giving international news much exposure.

Rupert Murdoch and the gang at the New York Postare gung-ho about giving Lara all the exposure she wants.

The Post featured Logan on its front-page today in a story about the “News Babe’s Iraqi Tryst." The paper gleefully told of the “sexy CBS siren's” alleged love triangle in Baghdad.

Passions over the 37-year-old former swimsuit model “got so hot in the combat zone that one of her lovers brawled in a Baghdad ‘safe house’ with her other paramour,” Todd Venezia breathlessly reported. He added, however, that an anonymous “pal” denied that such as “screaming match” happened. The Post's website features a glamour shot gallery of Logan.

This blogger is all for “fun and games” in the Post, which a former colleague used to call the “Compost.” He wonders if the Post would have given Logan the same play if her first name was “Larry.”

When it comes to reporting, Logan is at the top of her game. Logan ruffled the feathers of many news executives when she said she'd “blow her brains out” if she had to watch American news coverage. Some say the same thing about reading the Post.

On the “Daily Show,” Logan said Americans appear to be uninterested in the war in Iraq. She will soon get more opportunities to rekindle that interest.

CBS says the South Africa native will have more airtime on “CBS Evening News,” and “60 Minutes.”

That’s because she is a respected correspondent, though her good looks don’t hurt.
