It was widely reported last week that Goldman Sachs hired Public Strategies Inc. to handle its PR woes of the past year or two. But the NY Times' Dealbook blog noted today that the banking giant unveiled a new PR wrinkle in its 10-K statement filed today. Following a boold-type statement ("We may be adversely affected by increased governmental and regulatory scrutiny or negative publicity"), Goldman notes in the filing:
 “adverse publicity ... can also have a negative impact on our reputation and on the morale and performance of our employees, which could adversely affect our businesses and results of operations.”
DROP PR? Author Grant Cardone had a few bad experiences with PR firms lately, so he volleyed an industry-wide blast via the Huffington Post asking "Does hiring a PR firm even make sense today...?"
Cardone, a regular cable news talking head, says he gave three firms about a year to get it together to no avail.
He asks, "Has the world just changed so much that the days of PR is ending? Or is it that the PR people just haven't changed adequately to compete or have I just not found the right firm?"
