Jordana
Friedman, who has worked in the non-governmental sector for
more than a decade, is now a director in Burson-Marsteller's
corporate/finance practice.
She
joins B-M from the Council on Economic Priorities, where she
was director of the London office of the U.S.-based corporate
social responsibility group.
Friedman
plans to help B-M's clients manage their "social and
environmental performance on a global basis."
While
at CEP, she researched the impact that energy and mining companies
had on the economic development, human rights and political
stability in countries in which they operate.
Judi
Mackey, who chairs B-M's corporate practice, expects Friedman
will bridge the gap between the PR firm's clients and NGOs.
Prior
to CEP, Friedman was with Cultural Survival and the Minority
Rights Group, which are human rights organizations.
She
began her PR career as publicity director at the French-American
Cultural Services and Educational Exchange at the French Embassy
in New York.
Friedman
has spoken at events sponsored by the United Nations, U.S.
Congress, Council of Foreign Relations and the Royal Institute
of International Affairs.
