Pfizer has hired APCO Worldwide to promote its participation
in the "U Share Prescription Drug Discount Card"
program aimed at Medicare beneficiaries.
The New York-based pharmaceutical house is replacing its
Pfizer Share Card, which has more than 550,000 participants,
with U Share. Holders of the PSC receive a 30-day supply of
many Pfizer drugs for $15 per prescription. That program is
being phased out by Aug. 31, but enrollees must apply for
membership in U Share, which offers the same flat fee on Pfizer
and drugs from other companies.
United Healthcare Insurance Co. administers the U Share plan.
Eli Lilly & Co. is Pfizer's partner in the U Share program.
Its drugs are available for a $12 prescription price.
