Ron Levy (8/16):
PR reality is that government is not supposed to limit freedom of speech but our common sense can and should. There are things a minority member can say safely, and a mother aout her own child, but someone else would be wise not to. Why do what Dr. Laura did? If the answer is to stir up controversy so more people will tune into the show, then it's a calculated risk. But if the answer is "because we can say whatever we want," that's insensitive to PR reality.
PR wisdom is expressed not only through communications but through silence. Some things you should not say because they are not true, and some things you should not say because they are.
Joe Honick (8/17):
If Ron truly believes his comments here, he should read the commentary surrounding the proposed mosque/com theater/swimming pool/restaurant and other facilities on prime real estate.
I am certainly no fan or defender of Dr Laura who hails from outer space. But she did ask a valid question, and Ron's reasoning that like people can use whatever language the like would introduce some fascinating ideas for other ethnic comics I sure would not like from them or anyone else.
Wes Pedersen (8/17):
Say it once: oh,my God, I couldn't have said that!Say it twice, humble apologies to everyone you have ever known. Say it over and over: quit because it's deliberate and you going to be fried and fired.
