Burson-Marsteller has hired Edelman's Chris Deri for the CEO and market leader of China slot. With that move, Cindy Tian, who was China president, becomes executive chairwoman.

Deri spent a decade at Edelman, where he developed its corporate social responsibility and sustainability practice and keyed business acquisition activity. He is a Mandarin speaker and taught English at Shandong University earlier in his career.
Mark Penn called the Tian and Deri tandem a "powerful combination" in a market where B-M is "enjoying record levels of commercial achievement."
Tian took control of China in 2006. She will now focus on senior client relationships, office expansion and development of new service offerings.
B-M has been in China for 25 years. |
