DoSomething.org, a youth volunteerism group aligned with VH1, wants PR proposals for the 2011 “Do Something Awards, slated for August.
An RFP calls for pitches to provide media support leading up to and following the event, which features a healthy mix of entertainment and activism to honor “young do-gooders,” celebrities and groups that work toward “social change.”
Proposals are due by Dec. 20.
The RVP sets a timeline from late January to May, leading up to a key fundraising even in New York on May 23, and through the nominations in July and actual event in August.
PR to support the nominees, talent, as well as event logistics (press credentialing, red carpet) are included in the scope of work.
The group, which works with Metro PR, says it will mobilize two million people in 2011.
