Bob Okun, VP at NBCU, handles legislative and regulatory issues for the media giant, where he's worked since 1995. He's worked the Comcast/NBCU merger beat for the past year.
The newly merged Comcast/NBCU last month hired Kyle McSlarrow, head lobbyist for the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, to serve as president for its D.C. operation.
"Now that we are becoming an integrated, new company, I am excited to fulfill my professional dream after 30 years in Washington to start a firm which will bring together, politics, policy and business," Okun said in a statement through Comcast, which will be a client of his firm.
He was previously a Hill aide to Republican congressmen and assistant secretary for Congressional affairs at the Dept. of Education during the first Bush administration.
