The Sacramento Kings, the National Basketball Association franchise mulling an exit from the California capital, is losing its VP of marketing and communications.

Mitch Germann is dropping off the roster next month after more than three years for a VP/digital slot in Edelman’s Seattle office working primarily on its Microsoft business, he confirmed on Twitter.
The Kings’ owners, the Maloof family, have considered moving the franchise after a 2006 bid for a tax-payer financed arena failed and attendance has lagged in recent years. They face a May 2 deadline to file with the NBA for relocation.
Germann led marketing and communications for the family's company, Maloof Sports & Entertainment, which also controls the WNBA's Monarchs.
He is a seasoned sports PR pro, having joined the Kings after serving as director of brand communications for the Professional Bowlers Association. He did a year-long stint at Fleishman-Hillard after directing media relations for the University of Kansas’ 18 varsity athletic programs.
