Cohn & Wolfe has acquired XPR, a top ten agency in Singapore, as part of the WPP unit’s expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. Last month, it added China’s impactasia.
XPR has 28 staffers working for clients in the high-tech, banking, sports and lifestyle sectors. Those companies include Groupon, Motorola Mobility, Salesforce.com, SingTel and BMW Asia. Three-quarters of its accounts include digital and social media components to their PR campaigns.
XPR partners Gavin Foo, Karen Ho and Adrian Lee become group managers of the rebranded Cohn & Wolfe XPR shop.
In a joint statement, they said C&W “shares the same streak of independence, energy and innovation as we do, making the agency a compelling partner in the next stage of our growth.”
The trio reports to CEO Donna Imperato.
Also this week, WPP's Ogilvy PR Worldwide agreed to acquire a majority stake in Hong Kong-based healthcare firm Mind Resource Healthcare Consulting to target a Hong Kong healthcare market it pegs at $12.1 billion.
