Bill Huey, Strategic Communications (12/28):
Wes, your "hair late" comment gives away the person you most likely favor: Trump. No one is a bigger political novice than The Donald, and his can-do attitude is well known. In fact, there's nothing he can't do--just ask him.
[email protected] (12/28):
Superb, Wes. --I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, the sorry excuse for what passes as journalism on the 24 hour cable and radio shows, keeps many good people from trying their hands at politics. And that's bad for our country today, tomorrow and in the future. Our primary system also is a prime contributor to the decline of people wanting to do what's good for America. It's ridiculous to think that anyone but career politicians would spend a year away from an important job to campaign for a primary in Iowa, and it's even more ridiculous for the media to give the Iowa primary the coverage that it gets year around. As if those TV sitcoms weren't bad enough, we now have TV realityoms starring the GOP candidates.
Joe Honick, GMA International Ltd (12/28):
Gee, Wes, are you trying to covertly sell us on Mitt Romney? I still think we should go to my old idea of getting a consortium of headhunters to put ads in Rolling Stone and other publications to get applicants for the job. It would note: NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY; WILL TRIAN ON THE JOB! The the Selection Committee, you and I and others, could make the deal...then people even in South Dakota would have their voices heard on the campus of the Electoral College!
Wes Pedersen (12/30):
Ah, Bill, you know there is at least one thing the Donald cannot do. And that is, Shut up. And Joe, I have had enough lousy recommendations from headhunters to be a bit scepitcal that letting them recommend a president is a workable idea. Nice concept, though.
Fed Up In NYC! (1/03):
Mr Pedersen- First, let me wish all of you, a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year.
You are spot on with your assessment. The only problem is we build our hero's up only to tear them down! We look for every ridiculous reason to find people incompetent to serve office. We profess that morals matter- yet find a more immoral person than a politician!
I am afraid we can't get out of our own way...
Wes Pedersen (1/04):
Thank you, Fed Up, and do have a good year! You are right about the men we install in the White House. Look at Ike and Kay Summersby, JFK and his imported women, LBJ and, allegedly, a famous blond newswoman, Bill Clinton and the kneepad girl. Fill in the blanks for any I may have left out.
California Cruiser (1/03):
So, Wes, you want us to scratch the entire lineup of GOP candidates and ask Mr. Obama to turn the White House over to Joe Biden? Sounds like a plan to me.
Joe Honick, GMA International Ltd (1/04):
If we are all honest with ourselves and others, we will say simply this is one of the most disgraceful examples of a presidential campaign in ages. There are no GOP candidates worth considering even as the resident of the White House has shown to be disappointing.
Nor have any of these people shown the slightest worldly understanding of events that could cause major impact to our nation. And worse even still are the lazy allegedly 'mainstream' media that seem so foisted on inarticulate exercises called "debates" they cannot or will not demand more of those who want to lead the nation. All this as a world in turmoil, a world that used to look to us as more than arms suppliers, looks on with a combination of fear and disbelief.
PARADE Magazine and Vanity Fair seem more tuned in. |
