Colorado, one of five states awarded federal grants under a $46M substance abuse prevention program, has issued an RFP for PR support as it mobilizes its program.
Proposals are due March 31.
The Centennial State’s Division of Behavioral Health Community Prevention Programs will administer the five-year grant, doled out by the Dept. of Health and Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Partnerships for Success. It is worth $2.3M a year.
The RFP calls for a social marketing effort to back the program, blending PR, research and public service ads to reverse a negative trend among 12-17 year olds in underage and binge drinking rates, as well as a disparity in rates among Latino youth.
The contract will be worth about $85K/year.
