Principals of Brodeur Partners, the Boston-based tech firm acquired by Omnicom in 1993, said Tuesday they have bought back a majority stake from the advertising/PR conglomerate.

OMC will retain a stake.
“The return to entrepreneurial roots with Omnicom’s support and equity is the best of both worlds for us,” said CEO Andy Coville, who led the buyback with chairman John Brodeur.
The firm is organized around four areas – communications, digital, CSR unit ShiftPositive, and a counseling arm, Brodeur Strategies – and follows an open partnership model with its senior leadership in tact counseled by an advisory board of outsiders.
The buy-back follows a similar exit from Interpublic by MWW Group earlier this year.
