Barbara Gyde is the new chief external affairs officer at non-profit Lighthouse International, responsible for marketing, communications, fundraising, development and coordinating volunteer activity.

She is a veteran of Columbia Business School (executive director of business development for executive education) and University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where she was managing director for advertising strategy at the School and managing director of its publishing unit.
Mark Ackermann, president of 106-year-old Lighthouse says Gyde will also handle digital initiatives as well as the Double Up 4 Vision Bike/Ride Walk event launched in 2010.
Lighthouse is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting vision loss via prevention and treatment. It anticipates a greater need for its services as the big Baby Boom sector ages and the cases of diabetes increase.
