Adam Hirsch, former COO of Mashable, is moving to Edelman Digital Aug 6 for the newly created senior VP/emerging media and technology post.

He’s joining the No. 1 independent firm because its digital practice has been “at the forefront of thought leadership and the launch of innovative programs” for clients in the social digital space, according to his statement.
In his post, Hirsch will help clients identify new digital platforms and update Edelman Digital staffers on social media developments.
Hirsch was COO of Mashable from 2007 to early this year. Most recently, he served as chief digital officer for DoSomething.org, while maintaining a consultant relationship with Mashable.
