Atomic PR CEO Andy Getsey created H30Communications during the past year to keep things fresh at the San Francisco-based high-tech shop that is part of Huntsworth.
“As agencies mature, it’s important not to get stuck in the same ways of doing things and to continue to bring new ideas and experiences to clients and teammates,” he told O’Dwyer’s.
Getsey said Atomic has many longstanding clients so the “number of companies we couldn’t work with due to conflict was growing significantly.”
Forming H3O was a “was a way to create an additional “path for teammates ready for new challenges,” according to Getsey.
Atomic co-founder Rebecca West is managing director of H3O, which services accounts such as McAfee, Deluxe, Bertazzoni (high-end Italian stove/oven brand), Coffee and Power (new venture from the founder of Second Life), and MoonBot Studios. It generated $1.9M during its first 10 months of operation last year.
Atomic billed $13.1M in 2011, up from $11.1M in 2010. Atomic’s roster of new business wins includes Sony Electronics (its biggest client), Countour, WIMM Labs, Marklogic, Seamless, Milyoni, Ignite Games, Tumblecloud, Vouchercodes, Scrollmotion, Yoxi, Bitcasa Fusion.io and Minted.
Getsey views 2012 as an opportunity to expand its reach into the consumer and business-to-business brand categories. |
