Former Idaho Democratic Congressman Walt Minnick is repping China’s Jiangsu province as it seeks U.S., non-Chinese exhibitors for a trade show slated for the end of next month.
His Majority Group will earn a 25 percent cut of any fees it brings in from companies and trade associations interesting in rented booth space. The firm also will seek to lure high-level U.S. government reps to attend the opening ceremony at the confab slated for the Kunshan Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Minnick, who was a member of the conservative Blue Dog coalition, served one-term in Congress, going down in the 2010 Republican takeover of the House.
Earlier he was CEO of Trus Joist Corp. forest products company, co-founder of the Idaho Business Council, and staff assistant to President Richard Nixon. |
