5W Public Relations is working the account of Travel Alberta, the marketing agency of that Canadian province, to elevate the visibility of Edmonton as a travel destination.
The New York-based is promoting signature events such as the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival, which kicks off today and runs through July 15.
More than 1,500 outdoor performances are slated for the city’s downtown Sir Winston Churchill Square. 5W has worked with Festival organizers to pinpoint interesting stories about the street artists to pitch the media.
Later in the month, the focus shifts to the Edmonton Indy Car Race. The firm’s will work with the media to “entice their coverage to stretch just beyond the track at City Centre Airport to include some of the many other attractions to enjoy in the city,” according to 5W’s contract with Travel Alberta.
If requested by the client, 5W will carry out a “celebrity ambassador” program, encouraging high-profile visitors to “Tweet about their experiences, the positive attributes of the beautiful city and all the beauty and activity that is inherent to a stay in Alberta’s capital.” |
