Robert Kapp, who led the U.S.-China Business Council, has joined Burson-Marsteller as strategic advisor in its U.S.-China specialty group that is headed by Daisy King.

At the Council, Kapp represented the interests of members such as Coca-Cola, Boeing, Exxon Mobil, Caterpillar, DuPont and Dow Chemical.
Kapp also was president of the Washington Council on International Trade and most recently headed his own consulting firm.
King expects B-M clients to benefit from Kapp’s “extensive relationships in government, business and non-governmental organizations on both sides of the Pacific.”
U.S. exports to China topped the $100B mark ($103.9B) for the first time in 2011, up from $20B ten years ago. U.S. imports hit the $400B mark last year, leaving this country with a nearly $300B record trade gap with the Chinese.
