Shelley Rubino, chief of staff to Connecticut Congressman and chairman of the House Democratic caucus John Larson, is taking the VP-global government affairs post at Airlines for America on April 2.
Nick Calio, CEO of the D.C. organization that transports 90 percent of domestic passenger/cargo traffic, said Rubino is respected by “both sides of the aisle” and will work to ensure the airline business has the “right infrastructure and tax and regulatory environment to be globally competitive.”
Calio served as President George W. Bush’s Congressional liaison and was Citigroup’s chief lobbyist before joining A4A, the former Air Transport Assn. of America.
Prior to working in Larson’s office, Rubino was director of government law & strategies at Rudnick, Berlack, Israels LLP in Hartford.
A4A members support more than 1M jobs in the U.S. and generate more than $1T in economic activity. |
