Havas reported 2011 revenue rose 5.6% to €1.65B while net income jumped 9% to €120M.
North American operations surpassed expectations on growth of 6.8%, although the company noted a “slightly softer pace” in Q4.
Fourth quarter organic growth overall increased 5.4% to €492M.
Havas CEO David Jones said growth in digital, emerging markets and global accounts, along with cost reductions fueled the 2011 performance.
He noted digital and social media revenues increased to become 23% of overall revenue without any major acquisitions in the space in 2011.
Among key business wins for its PR unit, Euro RSCG WW PR, were fragrance marketer Coty’s global account, Reckitt Benckiser’s acquisition of Durex, and the global PR and social media business of streaming music service Deezer.
