Entergy, the nuclear power giant, has hired White House-connected Ricchetti Inc. for energy issues.
Jay Heimbach, who served as President Obama’s special assistant for legislative affairs, is working the account.
He was in charge of clean energy development and the White House’s employment portfolio. Earlier, he served as chief of staff for Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown.
Ricchetti is the firm founded by Jeff and Steve Ricchetti. On March 5, Vice President Joe Biden recruited Steve Ricchetti, who was President Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, as a senior advisor.
On the nuclear front, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced this week that it wants an updated environmental impact statement from Entergy as it reviews the operating license of the Indian Point reactor, which is 35 miles north of Manhattan.
In Vermont, Entergy filed papers in federal court asking a judge to forbid the state’s public service board form shutting down the Vermont Yankee nuke plant.
