Two firms in the Worldcom PR Group have picked up agency of record duties in their respective countries for online electronics retailer Crucial.com, following an RFP process.
The Pollack PR Marketing Group, Los Angeles, was tapped for the U.S., Kaizo, London, handles the U.K. Both are Worldcom members.
PhE Communication, Paris, covers France.
Crucial.com is owned by $8.8B semiconductor giant Micron Technology and sells computer memory and solid state drives.
The firms are developing three distinct campaigns aimed to build consumer awareness and traffic to the e-tailer, while touting the benefits of upgrading a computer’s memory.
Noemi Pollack, CEO of TPPMG, said consumers can relate to the frustration of a slow computer and sees the campaign as a chance to help them “extend the life of their computers with a do-it-yourself memory upgrade.”
Crucial.com, named after Micron’s Cruicial Technology consumer brand, is based in Boise, Id., also home of publicly traded Micron.
Worldcom has 104 member firms.
