Michele Tinson has signed on at Nissan Americas (Franklin, Tenn.) as internal communications/media center director. She had been communications director for Saab Cars North America.
Tinson, who has more than 20 years of PR experience, began her career at the Society of Automotive Engineers and moved to GolinHarris to handle safety/regulatory affairs and legal work for Chrysler.
She joined the Detroit automaker in 2000 and spent eight years, working as regional manager, press fleet coordinator, and senior manager for manufacturing and labor communications.
Tinson moved to Continental Automotive Safety Systems in 2008 and shifted to Saab two years later.
At Nissan, she reports to David Reuter, VP-corporate communications. He expects Tinson to be a key PR asset as Nissan steps up Nissan its product launch effort with the debut of five new vehicles during the next 15 months.
Nissan tapped Stratacomm as its U.S. PR agency earlier this year. |
