Russell Peck, who led the successful campaign to elect North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory, has landed at Mercury Public Affairs to open a Raleigh office for the Omnicom firm.
Peck, who takes a senior VP title at Mercury, led the North Carolina Republican Party before signing on as McCrory's campaign manager. In between, he was director of external affairs for America's Natural Gas Alliance, the PR and lobbying juggernaut for the natural gas industry.
McCrory is NC's first Republican governor since 1988.
Mercury partner Mike DuHaime called Peck "one of the most accomplished political operatives in America." Earlier stints included work on GOP efforts for Chris Christie's 2009 election as governor in New Jersey, as well as GOP campaigns in Florida and North Carolina.
Raleigh is Mercury's 10th office, joining outposts in D.C., New York, New Jersey, California, Florida and Pennsylvania. |
