Joan Walker, chief communications officer for insurance titan Allstate Corp., is retiring after a long career in agency and corporate PR.
She joined Allstate in 2005 and retires as executive VP, corporate relations, heading all internal and external communications for the Northbrook, Ill.-company, and it's subsidiaries. She was interim chief marketing officer from 2007-09.
The company said Walker exits on Feb. 1. A replacement has not yet been named.
"Joan has had tremendous success leading the company's communication and corporate reputation efforts during a time of significant external change," said president and CEO Thomas Wilson, in a statement.
Walker is a former partner at Bozell Sawyer Miller and served as president of its PR division. She led marketing and communications for Qwest Communications and Nynex Corp., corporate communications at Ameritech, and global public affairs at Pharmacia. She was also an EVP at Saatchi & Saatchi.
She is a member of Arthur W. Page Society, the Chicago Network and the Clinton Global Initiative. |
