Sarah Feinberg, a former White House aide and PR exec for Facebook and Bloomberg LP, is moving back to government as chief of staff to new U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx.
Feinberg exits Palo Alto-based Facebook, where she handled policy communications for the social network in California and Washington. She joined FB in 2011 after a stint as special assistant to President Obama and senior advisor to then-chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.
She previously was director of communications for Bloomberg in Washington and worked on the Hill for Emanuel and ex-Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle.
Foxx, the former mayor of Charlotte, N.C., was confirmed by the Senate in June.
