Sandra Buckler, who ran a tight ship as communications director to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, will take a VP post at Ottawa firm Bluesky Strategy Group next month.

bucklerBuckler spoke for the Conservative Party government from 2006-08 when she "ruffled the media's feathers with how tightly [the government had] controlled information," CTV wrote at the time.

At Bluesky, known for its Liberal Party ties, she'll handle media relations, crisis communications and campaign development.

She returns to the agency world after stints as chief of staff to the Ministers of Health and the Northern Development Agency. She was a VP at FleishmanHillard's GPC Public Affairs before joining the Harper government.

Harper lost his seventh communications director in September when Andrew MacDougall decamped for MSLGroup.
