lorain wongLorain Wong, global chief of corporate communications/internal PR, has exited HTC, the struggling Taiwanese handset maker, after a four-month stint, according to a Bloomberg report.

She’s leaving for personal reasons and will remain a consultant for at least a three-month stint.

The former Top 5 phone maker has tumbled beyond the Top 10 rankings of manufacturers.

On Oct. 4, HTC reported its first-ever operating loss, dropping $101M on $1.6B in revenues.

CEO Peter Chou, who has been pushing "wearables" as a future driver of growth, has reportedly handed sales/marketing and vendor relationship duties to chairwoman Cher Wang.

He will now focus on innovation following the tepid market response to HTC’s One smartphone offering, which has been walloped by its Apple and Android competitors.
