bob lewisBob Lewis, 13-year Capitol correspondent for the Associated Press in Richmond fired last month after an error covering the state's gubernatorial election, is moving to McGuireWoods in a media relations role next week.

Lewis, starting Nov. 11, will lead the Richmond-based public affairs and law firm's communications team.

He spent the last 28 years with the AP in the Midwest and South, but was axed along with two editors in early October after penning a story that erroneously alleged Gov.-elect Terry McAuliffe lied to a federal investigator.  Some journalists and elected officials criticized the AP's move as too harsh.

Lewis takes the title of senior manager for media relations, guiding internal and external comms. strategies alongside the work of MW's 900 lawyers across 19 offices, as well as its PA unit, McGuireWoods Consulting.
