John Ullyot, a corporate, political and agency exec, has left a senior VP role atHill+Knowlton Strategies for High Lantern Group in D.C.

Ullyot exits H+K after five years. He directed the office's public affairs and crisis communications units and has worked crises for clients like DHL, Ford, Pfizer and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Before H+K, he was communications director and deputy chief of staff to Sen. John Warner (R-Va.), who left the senate after five terms in 2009 after declining to run again. Ullyot was also communications director to the late Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.). On the corporate side, he was VP of corporate communications for AOL Europe and was Washington spokesman for Intel Corp.

He takes a managing director title with High Lantern, which also has operations in Los Angeles and New York.
