Minnesota's Metropolitan Airports Commission has moved its PR, public affairs and marketing account to Olson after an RFQ review.
Minneapolis-based Olson replaces longtime incumbent Padilla Speer Beardsley. Both were finalists. BBDO/Fleishman-Hillard and Risdall Marketing Group also pitched in the four-way competition.
The commission oversees Minneapolis-St. International, which recently completed a $3B expanion, and six other airports in the region.
The contract was worth an average of $456K a year from 2007-2011, according to the commission, before some services were brought in-house and it ramped up its digital profile. PSB handled the account since the mid-1990s.
A seven-person team of marketing and PA pros conducted the review.
