Joe MansiJoe Mansi, a longtime agency and corporate PR exec who was a managing partner at KCSA Strategic Communications in New York, died March 18. He was 77.

Mansi, who retired six years ago after 25 years as a partner at KCSA, did PR and IR stints at The Lawrence Organization (New York/D.C.), Philip Leslie Company (Chicago), Ward Foods, where he was VP of communications, and Metromedia. He ran his own shop, Corporate Relations Network, for five years before joining KCSA in 1980.

Prior to his PR career, he was a reporter for International News Service, a predecessor to United Press International. His duties at INS were interrupted by Army service in 1958, during which he was an information specialist for the Military District of Washington handling press for foreign dignitary visits, including Gen. Charles de Gaulle, King Hussein and Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Mansi graduated from New York University and was active as a member of the board of trustees of the North Shore Historical Museum and a volunteer for the pastoral care division of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
