Lindsey Spindle, senior VP for comms. and external affairs at healthcare standards group The National Quality Forum, is slated to join Washington-based childhood hunger campaign Share Our Strength as chief communications and brand officer.

Lindsey SpindleSOS produces the "No Kid Hungry" campaign, which educates low-income families in the U.S. about nutrition and has enlisted the food sector, government and the entertainment industry, among others, in its efforts.

Spindle, a Porter Novelli alum, was director of external engagement for the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform at the Brookings Institution, VP at Avalere Health, and directed media relations for Georgetown University Medical Center.

She takes the SOS post on April 29.

Former White House press secretary and current Public Strategies partner Mike McCurry is a board member of SOS.
