Stephanie Ichinose, who led communications for online search and review giant Yelp, has moved to venture capital firm Accel Partners as marketing partner.
Ichinose manages the VC firm's brand and advises entrepreneurs in its portfolio on PR strategy.
Accel, based in Palo Alto, manages an $8.8B portfolio includes taxi app Hailo and music service Spotify. It also backed Facebook early and funded Groupon, Glam Media and Walmart.com.
Ichinose exits Yelp as senior director of communications after nearly seven years, a tenure spanning its move from venture-backed start-up to publicly traded corporation. Earlier, she was worked PR for Yahoo!'s Search and Marketplace unit and Sony Computer Entertainment America.
Ichinose also worked the agency side at Hill+Knowlton Strategies.
Accel has offices in New York, London, Bangalore and three in China.
