Brunswick Group partner and federal Washington player Michele Davis has joined Morgan Stanley as corporate communications chief.

michele davisShe joined BG in 2009 after making her mark at the Treasury Dept. as assistant secretary for PA, where she advised then secretary Henry Paulson during the global financial meltdown.

Davis also did stints at George W. Bush’s White House, serving as deputy national security advisor for global communications and at Fannie Mae in the senior VP regulatory policy capacity.

MS vice chairman and former Burson-Marsteller CEO Tom Nides, in a memo today, noted that Davis has "worked at the nexus of political and financial throughout her career."

Davis takes the spot exited in February by Jeanemarie McFadden, who was in charge of media relations.

She reports to Nides, who rejoined MS in February after working for two years as Hillary Clinton’s deputy at the State Dept.
