Gordon JohndroeGordon Johndroe, who was chief spokesperson at the National Security Council and White House deputy press secretary, has joined Lockheed Martin as VP/media relations and international communications.

At the NSC, the 38-year-old prepped president George W. Bush and his team for media interviews and worked with staffers on intelligence, counter-terrorism, energy and defense issues. He was the NSC’s communications link to the Central Intelligence agency and cabinet secretaries.

Earlier, Johndroe was director of strategic communications at the State Dept., press sectary at the Dept. of Homeland Secretary and chief spokesperson for First Lady Laura Bush.

Most recently, he was VP at APCO Worldwide, dealing with global PR, social media and government relations.

At Lockheed Martin, which had $47B in 2012 revenues and 118K employees, Johndroe reports to Jennifer Whitlow, VP-corporate communications.
