Linda Douglass, the media communications executive who helped the Obama administration sell healthcare reform, is stepping down from her senior VP of global communications post at Atlantic Media.

linda douglassEmily Lenzer, former executive director of communications for the Washington bureau of ABC News most recently with SDKnickerbocker, will take the PR reins for AM.

Douglass was director of communications for the White House Office of Health Reform from 2009-10 before joining Atlantic Media in its top PR role.

In an email to staff, AM president Justin Smith wrote, "Linda has made the right personal decision to disconnect from 80 hour weeks in order to, as she put it, 'experiment with the concept of more free time.'"

Smith said Douglass will maintain a consulting role with the company.

The former TV journalist took a communications role with Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and was a spokeswoman for the presidential inauguration committee before moving to the healthcare PR post.
