Ogilvy Government Relations filed a pact to lobby for Herbalife this month on "corporate governance issues," according to the June 13 filing.

The move comes after a congresswoman and consumer watchdogs are urging the Federal Trade Commission to investigate Akman's allegations against Herbalife.

Ogilvy principals Moses Mercado, Dean Aguillen, along with senior associate Alissa Wilcox are on the Herbalife beat.

On the PR front, Herbalife works with Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher and GFBunting.

Ackman' s PR team includes Global Strategy Group and Edelman.

Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.) penned a letter to the FTC this month urging a probe at the behest of her "constituents and outside groups."

The company has more than 2,000 "distributors" in Sanchez' district, according to the June 13 Financial Times, hundreds of whom are Hispanic. The Hispanic Federation lobbying group in May wrote to the FTC to encourage an investigation of the company's practices which it said may be rewarding for recruitment rather than sales.
