National non-profit Communication Service for the Deaf has issued a request for proposal from agencies that can provide PR and media relations services to boost national, mainstream visibility of the agency.

CSD is the largest interpreting agency in the U.S. The Austin-based non-profit, which offers sign language interpreting and translation services for the deaf and hard of hearing, was founded in 1975.

CSD

CSD is seeking an agency that can raise awareness of the non-profit and expand mainstream national press coverage with “aggressive, proactive media outreach” regarding CSD’s work, its services and the advocacy work it does on behalf of the deaf community.

Scope of the work would include development and execution of a targeted PR and media relations plan, media outreach, writing and placing press releases, identifying story ideas and targeting key media outlets, media training, planning press conferences and media monitoring.

Agency proposals will be evaluated based qualifications, projected costs and the quality of the written proposal. A proven experience in advocacy representation with a strong presence in Washington, D.C. is a plus. Ideally, the agency chosen will be retained for a preliminary period of between three and six months, with a reevaluation made based upon ROI and budget.

Proposals must be submitted by April 1 and should be submitted via email to: Brandi Rarus, CSD Vice President Public Relations & Community Engagement, [email protected].
