Washington lobbying and public affairs shop CGCN Group has been retained by the Embassy of Japan to provide PR counsel and advocacy work on Capitol Hill.

Scope of the work includes introducing embassy officials to members of Congress and the executive branch, as well as general strategic advice and intelligence gathering, according to Foreign Agents Registration Act documents filed in April.

The contract runs from April until March of 2018 and fetches CGCN a total of $144,000, to be paid in quarterly installments of $36,000.

CGCN, formerly known as Clark Geduldig Cranford & Nielsen, is the right-leaning lobbying firm founded by former National Republican Congressional Committee communications director Steve Clark.
