The National Job Corps Association, a career preparation program for at-risk young adults, has retained D.C.-based government affairs firm Kountoupes Denham for Capitol Hill representation on budgetary issues related to labor.

National Job Corps Association

NJCA is a trade association comprised of employer and community partners that provides outreach campaigns, national policy and government relations support to increase the visibility of the Job Corps, the U.S. Department of Labor program that offers free vocational and academic training to young people. The Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit was founded in 1998.

NJCA has tapped Kountoupes Denham for help with Jobs Corps authorization and management reform, as well as Labor-Health and Human Services Appropriations bills, and the U. S. Department of Labor nomination process.

The account will be led by Lori Denham, former chief of staff to Rep. Cal Dooley (D-CA) and legislative director to former Energy and Commerce Committee member Rep. Darlene Hooley (D-OR); and Randi Reid, former legislative director to Rep. Michael C. Burgess (R-Texas).

Kountoupes Denham, formerly known as Kountoupes Consulting, is led by Lisa Kountoupes, who was President Clinton’s House liaison, an assistant director of legislative affairs at the Office of Management & Budget, a special assistant at the Dept. of Energy and a staffer on John Dingell’s Energy & Commerce Committee.
