Greenough Brand Storytellers has appointed Jamie Parker to the position of chief mission officer. In this new role, Parker, who previously served as the agency’s president, will expand its practice that serves mission-based clients in cultural organizations, public media, social services, higher education and private schools. Prior to Greenough, Parker was VP of marketing and communications at WGBH, Boston’s public television station. Before that she was GM at Weber Shandwick Worldwide. “Jamie has elevated our work with mission-based organizations into a thriving practice,” said Greenough CEO Phil Greenough. “She brings a deep passion for helping nonprofits become world class marketers, and this new role enables her to devote more time to this vital segment of the economy.”

LaVoieHealthScience has hired Douglas Russell as senior VP and general manager. Russell comes LHS from Boston-based MSL, where he was senior VP in charge of the Health IT portfolio. In his new role at LHS, he will provide client and account leadership for foundational accounts, lead business development and thought leadership, develop and mentor talent, and provide infrastructure development. He reports to LHS president and CEO Donna L. LaVoie. “It is a natural fit to extend our leadership at the intersection of technology and health and science," said LaVoie. “This is a natural extension of our expertise that also aligns with Doug's long history in leadership roles at renowned PR agencies.”

The Video Advertising Bureau has named Lauren Leff to the newly created role of VP, marketing & communications. Leff joins VAB from Kite Hill PR, where she was a senior VP, overseeing account teams for Salon Media Group, Branded Entertainment Network, Trusted Media Brands and cross-device marketing technology company Tapad. Prior to joining Kite Hill, she led advertising, media and entertainment industry accounts at DiGennaro Communications including Live Nation Entertainment as well as at GreenLight Media & Marketing, an LA-based entertainment branding agency.. In her new role, Leff will oversee VAB’s communications supporting its advocacy and dedication to providing advertisers and their agencies with current and actionable media insights.

Preferred Hotels & Resorts has appointed Caroline Michaud as its executive VP, corporate communications & public relations. Since joining Preferred in 2012 as senior manager of public relations for the Americas, Ms. Michaud has orchestrated media campaigns to elevate the company’s global profile among trade and consumer audiences including its rebranding from Preferred Hotel Group to Preferred Hotels & Resorts in 2015. Previously, she held executive positions at Isabelli Media Relations, Wagstaff Worldwide Chicago and Redpoint Marketing PR. In her new position, Michaud will oversee global integrated media relations strategy for Preferred, as well as working to define the voice behind messaging campaigns for the company’s executive team. She will also be responsible for the company’s intranet and extranet channels.
