BackBay Communications has brought on former Money Magazine deputy editor Paul Lim as VP. Lim will lead BackBay’s asset and wealth management group, with responsibilities that include overseeing the group’s accounts and developing and implementing strategic communications plans on behalf of clients. At Money, Mr. Lim led all financial and investing coverage. While at Money, he was also a contributing columnist for the New York Times. Before that, he served as chief financial correspondent for U.S. News & World Report and was a financial writer for The Los Angeles Times. BackBay president & CEO Bill Haynes said that Lim’s “deep understanding of trends and issues in financial services will help clients stay ahead of current events, while his ability to distill complex topics and convey investing and market insights in a memorable and easy-to-understand narrative will benefit the end customers of our asset and wealth management clients.”

Hill+Knowlton Strategies London has appointed Eleanor Sullivan as director of creative strategy. Sullivan comes to H+K from Golin, where she was director of planning, working with a portfolio of clients that included Unilever, nPower, Merck, ABInbev, Diageo and Mondelez. In her new post,she will work on significant and strategically important H+K projects to champion the agency’s creative process. “Eleanor will support creative strategy and planning for our clients, ensuring our data-led approach to creativity is evident in everything we do,” said Simon Shaw, Chief Creative Officer of H+K London.

Bully Pulpit Interactive is bringing on Danny Franklin as a partner, based in the agency’s New York office. Franklin served as managing partner at Benenson Strategy Group, where he led strategic research and message development for clients such as President Obama, McDonald’s, NBC News, the NFL, Bank of America, the ACLU and Pew Charitable Trusts. In his new post, the agency says Franklin will work to bridge traditional message research with next-generation analytics and marketing capabilities. He will work alongside current BPI partner Mike Schneider to build tools and techniques intended to help clients better understand audience behaviors and strategic insights.

TransMedia Group has appointed Danielle Stoecker director of public relations. Before coming to TransMedia, Stoecker established branding for Save of the Day Foundation, a Utica, NY nonprofit that provides economically disadvantaged families with common household items during the holiday season. She created its marketing strategies as well as recommending untapped resources and donor bases. She has also organized events and fundraising campaigns to benefit local crisis centers, research for cancer and political campaigns. At TransMedia, Stoecker will handle such clients as the Opioid Awareness Foundation, Moroccan Gold Series hair care products and the Global Warming Foundation.

Columbus 2020, the economic development organization for the 11-county Columbus Region, has hired Amy Harman as director of marketing and communications. Harman will work with the Columbus 2020 team to generate opportunities to serve growing companies and promote the Columbus Region’s position as a leading location for business investment. Prior to joining Columbus 2020 Harman was an account director for Fahlgren Mortine, and served as Midwest account manager for Electronic Arts. “Amy’s experience leading marketing campaigns and her deep knowledge of Columbus 2020 and our mission will be instrumental in our efforts to keep the Columbus Region top of mind as an ideal business destination,” said Columbus 2020 president and CEO Kenny McDonald.
