Random House is using outside PR counsel as its releases "The Loudest Voice in the Room," an anticipated biography of Fox News head Roger Ailes by New York's Gabriel Sherman.

SKD Knickerbocker managing director Josh Isay is leading the assignment assisting the publisher's in-house press operation to release the 560-page book. Its launch date was moved up a week to Jan. 14 because of media attention.

The Daily Beast reported a website and tumblr were set up to rebut any specific charges by Fox against the book, noting Isay and New York colleague Audry Gelman at SKD are "preparing a political-style rapid response operation should one be deemed necessary."

Capital New York said the SKD execs are teamed with Random House deputy publicity director Barbara Fillon and editor Jonathan Jao

Fox News has said Sherman was not provided any access and "the book was never fact-checked with Fox News."
