CBS Interactive has named Christine Castro senior VP-communications to handle its portfolio of brands including CBS.com, CNET, TV.com, Gamespot, CBSNews.com and CBSSports.com.
She will take the job next month, reporting to Gil Schwartz, executive VP-communications at CBS Corp. and Jim Lanzone, CEO of CBSI.
Castro had held key posts at Adobe Systems (VP-corporate PR), Genentech (senior VP-corporate relations), Yahoo (chief communications officer), Walt Disney Corp. (VP-corporate communications) and Kekst & Co. (managing director).
Most recently, she did a stint at direct-to-consumer personal genetics company 23andMe (VP-communications).
Lanzone, in announcing the hire, touted Castro’s “rare combination of technology and media experience.”
