Geno Effler, VP-communications at Volvo Cars of North America, has been named VP of PR and communications at the National Hot Rod Assn., which bills itself as the largest motorsports sanction authority.
He’ll report to Tom Compton, president.
Effler has more than two decades of automotive/motorsports experience, gained at Aston Martin NA, Mercedes-Benz USA and Kia Motors America.
For AM, he handled its participation in the American Le Mans Series, and Kia among his duties was its role in SCORE Off-Road Racing and SSCA Pro Rally.
Effler began a PR career at the Los Angeles Rams National Football League team and worked with the Oakland Invaders of the USFL. He also did a stint at Hill and Knowlton’s automotive practice.
NHRA is based in Glendora, Cal.
