Meredith Balenske, a VP for corporate technology at FleishmanHillard in Washington, has moved to Revolution, the DC-based venture firm backed by tech luminaries including AOL founder Steve Case.
Balenske takes the director of communications slot at Revolution. Allyson Burns, former comms. director at AOL, is VP of communications.
Balenske was previously deputy comms. director for Bloomberg LP in Washington and worked PR and marketing at Discovery Communications' Animal Planet.
Revolution's portfolio includes Resonate, Exclusive Resorts and Zipcar, among others through its Growth, Ventures and Places units. In addition to Case, founders include Donn Davis (ex-COO AOL Interactive); Ted Leonsis (ex-AOL vice chair), and Tige Savage (ex-VP, Time Warner Ventures).
