Kekst and Company and Joele Frank, Wilkinsom Brimmer Katcher are advising Mallinckrodt's $5.6B acquisition of Questcor, announced today.
Kekst is bolstering PR for the Ireland-based acquirer, Mallinckrodt, where Meredith Fischer, senior VP, communications and PA, heads communications from its U.S. base in St. Louis.
Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher is guiding M&A communications for Anaheim-based Questcor, the target of the $86.10-per-share deal.
Both boards have approved the deal, which is expected to close in the third quarter.
Questcor markets the $761.3M-a-yeaar H.P. Acthar gel for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
Mallinckrodt president/CEO Mark Trudeau said the deal diversifies his company's specialty pharmaceuticals portfolio, noting Questcor, along with recent acquisition Cadence Pharmaceuticals, gives Mallinckrodt an established presence with "prescribers, payers and hospitals."
