julian payneJulian Payne, who led communications for the BBC in the wake of the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal, has moved to fashion brand Burberry as VP of PR and corporate communications in London amid a CEO transition.

Payne took the BBC PR reins early last year, a year after the lingering Savile scandal first rocked the British media institution. He was partner at PR agency Henry's House.

American Angela Ahrendts is leaving the Burberry CEO slot this year to head Apple's retail operation. Designer Christopher Bailey is taking over Burberry.

Former BBC Worldwide CEO John Smith moved to Burberry last year. Sarah Manley, who once led PR and communications, has been chief marketing officer since 2010.
